The Tingarri Dreamtime stories are very prominent in the northern Ngaanyatjarra lands and the great flows of dreaming tracks, have both male and female characters. While there are extremely sacred aspects, the stories also have open parts known to everybody. Tingarri paintings sometimes have a mathematical quality about them, of endless spatial extension which gives a sense of the great flood of this creation energy across the landscape. Sections are often painted on the bodies of dancers in Tingarri ceremonies.
