Minyma Ktjarra at Lawutjarra
Having been pursued by a great yellow snake called Ngantjal, the Two Dreamtime Sisters came to Lawutjarra with their children, a boy and a girl, and they made two water holes in the rock there and a water soakage, all by thrusts of their digging sticks. They also danced and made two great claypans. After this they went out across the countryside, gathered the wild food in the area and brought it back to the camp. Presently, and it is not told why, both the children became very sick and died and in their sadness the sisters began to wail in bereavement. As their grief became too great for them to bear they determined to take poison and kill themselves. They gathered bright green leaves from a local poison tree, laid this out on a long rock to dry and then ate it.
